Cross Country - Girls

The Bishop Blanchet Cross Country Team has a long tradition of providing young men and women with a non-cut sport that creates opportunities to set and achieve personal goals, to compete and succeed, and to build close friends while having a great time.

All Bishop Blanchet students are welcome to join the team. The cross country program fields over 100 young men and women committed to each other and the task of self-improvement in both life and running. Our weekly and seasonal awards are based off self-improvement. 

As an individual, you will compete every week.

As a team, we will compete every week.

The girls cross country team had a historic season!

At the Metro Championship, the Bears placed three runners in the top five (Lily LaPorte ‘25 placed 2nd, Zöe Louis ‘25 placed 3rd, and Chloe Cromwell ‘27 placed 5th) and all seven Varsity runners finished in the top 22 out of 93 runners. The Bears score of 37 was 18 points better than 2nd place. At Metros, the Bears brought home their 22nd Metro Championship in school history. In addition to that, Head Coach, Tom Albes was named Metro League Coach of the Year. 

At the District Championship the Bears placed three runners in the top 15 (Zöe Louis finished 5th, Lily LaPorte finished 6th and Chloe Cromwell finished 15th) and all seven runners finished in the top 47 out of 99 runners. The Bears finished with a score of 65 earning the 2023 District Team Championship which was 39 points ahead of 2nd place. The team has won back to back to back District Championships. 

At State, the Bears placed four runners in the top 50.

Lily LaPorte placed 11th, Chloe Cromwell placed 39th, Zöe Louis ‘25 placed 42nd, and Sophia Cool placed 49th. The Bears took home 2nd place as a team, which ties for the highest place in the program's history.
